Baby Charlotte-McKinney Newborn Photographer

Charlotte, what a beautiful name.

I was so thrilled to be asked to photograph sweet Charlotte’s newborn pictures! Charlotte’s momma works at a hospital in McKinney, where I met her. Each newborn comes with unique features. I love when I get to discover them. Some moms know them right away, and some don’t realize them until I point them out. This momma already knew each separate feature that made her sweet baby unique from her first little girl. I photographed them, mom confirmed them. You will see below what these features are.

Charlotte Newborn

First of all, let’s talk about Charlotte’s stork bite. My middle daughter had the biggest one. When she was mad, it turned bright red. Now, as she has gotten older, it has faded. It really only comes out when she cries. This sweet girl’s stork bite is absolutely gorgeous. The first thing her momma said to me was that it looks just like her big sister’s stork bite. I believe she referred to them as Angel wings. If you are curious about stork bites, click here to learn more.

Those round cheeks were so pudgy! And she had the cutest little button nose.

Big sister was so proud of her baby sister. She loved getting in the picture with her baby.

Check out the sweet smiles of this baby! She was full of smiles for me that day.

Charlotte Newborn

I don’t know what it is about toes. First I love them. Second, look at these little piggies! Do you see how the fourth toe tucks slightly under her third toe? Then her fifth toe curls on top of her fourth! Her toes were like that for the entire session. The sad thing is that as newborns grow up, their toes start to straighten.

Until the next post, enjoy!

Teelock Maternity-Dallas Maternity Photographer

The Teelock family anxiously awaits…

This beautiful momma, Mrs. Teelock, contacted me several weeks ago. She wanted to document this very special time in their life. The arrival of their first baby, a boy! Mrs. Teelock mentioned that she wanted to have the pictures done at White Rock Lake. I knew the perfect place to meet. The Corinthian Sailing Club. If you have not been there, please go visit! It is absolutely beautiful out there. White Rock Lake is the perfect place to get out and stretch your legs when the weather is beautiful. Make sure to check this place out!Teelock Maternity

Such a sweet couple. They were shy at first, but, like many, they warmed up after a short while.

The wind was definitely blowing. We tried to fight with it, but then went with it. I actually like when I get pictures of hair flying in the wind. It tells more about the setting that we were in.

I love these pictures. The wind had died down. I had asked mom to sit on the ground and look up at me. I was so impressed with her glow. For the first time ever, I feel like I saw that pregnancy glow. 🙂

It was such an honor to work with this beautiful couple. They seemed to have had a great time. They looked so good together and they were truly happy. I wish them all the best with the rest of their pregnancy and the delivery of their sweet baby boy.

Contact me if you would like to schedule a maternity session.

Until next time, Enjoy. 🙂

Baby Dalton-Dallas Newborn Photographer

Meet baby Dalton!

This sweet little boy will melt your heart. Dalton is such a handsome boy and was at his newborn session. I know one of his momma’s from working with her. So, it was an honor to be able to photograph her first baby when she asked. I hope that you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them. 🙂

Football. A boy and football. Can I say more?

Dalton Newborn

Look at these little piggies. I wonder who’s toes they look like.

Dalton Newborn Dalton Newborn

It is so easy to forget the little details of the newborn. Their little lips, their eyelashes, the button nose, and long fingers. And don’t forget when they have long, curly hair. All details that will be remembered forever, because they have been captured.

Dalton Newborn Dalton Newborn

I love his little rolls on his back. A thick baby is a healthy one! Well, most of the time, anyway. 🙂

Dalton Newborn Dalton Newborn

When I put this little outfit on Dalton, you could hear the oohs, they aaahs, and the snickering. They both loved this outfit so much! There is nothing I enjoy more than when I pull something that exceeds the parent’s expectations. This was it for these mommas.

Dalton Newborn

On the top image, mom was laughing. The natural smile that was captured is just precious. Now, should I really tell you why she was laughing? Nah, I’ll let you enjoy the smile, just because. On the bottom image, this little boy was ready to eat. He didn’t want to be held unless you were going to feed him. I love the face of both of them. Little stinker. 🙂

One beautiful little family.

Dalton Newborn

This was such a fun session to be a part of. As I catch up on all of the blogging, I will finally get to their maternity session. That was also a blast!

Vendors: Roses and Ruffles for the fabric backdrops, Luneberry for the beautiful blue rug and wooden bowl, and the adorable outfit was from No. 2 Willow Lane.

Blair Newborn-Dallas Newborn Photographer

Meet Newborn Baby Blair!

This beautiful baby came to the studio back in the fall. Blair was one of the cutest babies I had ever seen. Oh so sleepy, and just plain beautiful. I love when I meet new people. Especially when we share the same first name. I haven’t met a Katie that I haven’t liked yet! Katie brought most of her family to the session for pictures. The oldest two were away at college and unable to attend. This session was perfect and went so well. As you will see in the following images, Blair was a rockstar. She nailed all of her poses and did so very gracefully.

Blair Newborn

Fall colors. Need I say more? I absolutely love the mums and the vibrant colors they brought to this session.

Blair Newborn Blair Newborn

He was a very proud big brother. I was so impressed with the way he held his baby sister.

Blair Newborn

Katie, you truly make some beautiful children!

A beautiful momma and her sweet newborn. I love to do parent pictures. Parents cherish these later in life.

Blair Newborn Blair Newborn Blair Newborn

When mom asked to have a full family picture indoors, I panicked a little bit. I don’t do indoor ones with big families that often. Once I loaded the images to my computer, I was confident that she would love these, and she certainly did!

Blair Newborn Blair Newborn

Working with this family was such an honor. Thank you, Katie, for allowing me to capture this short time in your life. It was so special and you will cherish these images for years to come.

If you are interested in where the props for this session came from, most of my items come from one of my most favorite vendors, Sew Whimsey. Other vendors that I have used are My Darling Emma, and Luneberry.

All the best,

Katie

Baby Kingston-Dallas Newborn Photographer

Meet Baby Kingston!

Mr. Kingston was a well welcomed addition to the Brown family! After heart ache and loss, Yolanda and her husband welcomed their rainbow baby, Kingston. I’m sure that over time you have heard the term of a rainbow baby. It, by definition, means that it is a baby that has come after loss, whether during pregnancy, or after. It is such a treat when I get a rainbow baby in my studio. The parents smiles are bigger, and shine brighter, even when exhaustion is what they feel. It is simply incredible.

To honor this beautiful rainbow baby, I took the time to create an image that represented it.

Rainbow Baby

After finishing these images, it was time to move on to some other ones. Mister Kingston was quite the handsome little fella! I loved his tight woven, and curly hair. His nose, was like a little button. I can see why momma kissed it all the time!

Kingston newborn

This little guy even had to watch me for a second. Make sure I was doing my job right!

And the smiles, they never stopped! He had so many cute ones for me!

Do you see Kingston scratching his head? I swear, he is looking at me thinking.. “Lady, I don’t know what you are up to but you should find my momma.”

I love how proud momma looks, holding her sweet baby boy.

This picture of daddy, wrapping his arms around his entire family is probably one of my favorites from the whole session. The proud look in his eyes says everything. I love it!

It was such a pleasure to have this beautiful family in my studio. As a labor and delivery nurse, I worked with this momma. She was so thankful to come. To allow me to share my talents with her. If you ever have the chance to meet Yolanda, you will love her forever. Congratulations you two.

Baby Everly-McKinney Newborn Photographer

Meet Sweet Newborn Everly!

Being a newborn photographer in the McKinney area is such a honor. Isn’t baby Everly the most precious newborn you could possibly meet? I met Everly’s mom just a few weeks ago. We became instant friends. It was like we knew each ever forever! Everly joined her sister earth side after mom worked super hard to have a natural delivery. Yes, completely natural. That means no epidural! There are so few that can accomplish this difficult process. And, momma, just did it for her second time! And, she did so like a rockstar!

When Kati, Grace, and newborn baby Everly came to the studio, I was so excited to see that this beautiful girl had rolls, and lots of hair. This, my friends, is a newborn photographer’s dream come true! As you can see below, you will instantly fall in love!

Congratulations Shayne, Kati, and big sister Grace!

This momma is just gorgeous! I feel it is so important to get in the picture with your brand new baby. I know you may not feel like it. Haven’t slept much, still carry your pregnancy weight, and you are emotional. I promise you that in 10 years, you will look back and realize how little your newborn was. How you cuddled them so close. You won’t see the things that wanted to keep you from the picture.

Big sister Grace was so proud of her baby sister. She loved checking her out. She loved kissing her, holding her. She is going to do such a wonderful job of watching over her.

Those little lips. The bubbles. I just can’t handle it!

You also have to have some time to be silly, right?

At the end, while mom fed baby Everly, I took a moment to get some pictures of Grace. She was so easy to talk to. Smiled so pretty for the camera. And, took pictures with her lovey!

Flokati by Luneberry. Headbands and wraps by Goodnight Moon Props. Green Backdrop, wrap, and headband by Whatsoever Things.

Capturing Sweet Love With Aaron and Ali

“He’s more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” –Emily Bronte

There is nothing sweeter then when two people fall in love. Spending an evening with Aaron and Ali was a perfect end to my day. These two were so in love with each other, I wouldn’t have been surprised if they noticed me. As you will see in the photos below, they were madly in love with each other. Over the moon for each other.

Aaron and Ali make Love look so easy. They were so comfortable next to each other. The hot temperatures of Texas didn’t even phase them. They were too focused on each other.

Someone passing by in a car whistled at them. It couldn’t have been better timing. We were getting ready to head over to a different area. I had put my camera down to grab another lens. True candid moments are always so fun!

Shooting an engagement session is totally out of my norm. I don’t offer them on my website, I don’t advertise them. When Ali contacted me for an engagement session I was beyond thrilled. I didn’t even realize how much fun and how easy it would be. I cannot wait to see this beautiful couple get married. It’s such an honor.

A Trip to the Zoo!

Time for a personal post! I was going through old photos about two weeks ago and realized that I hadn’t gone through pictures of our trip to the zoo a year ago! As a photographer, personal pictures are always put on the back burner. Then, after time, they are forgotten, never to be edited. Yes, I am one of those photographer moms that fears not having any pictures for their children when they graduate. The struggle is real people. You may not realize it but, computers crash, so do hard drives. You have the hard drives but when your computer crashes, your hard drive that worked with the USB 2.0 is no longer  compatible with your new, faster computer. So, you have to periodically transfer all of your files from one hard drive to another hard drive. My solution, it’s time to make some albums. I recently made an album with shutterfly and I could not believe how well the pictures came out in the book! My first attempt was so disappointing that it had been 6 years since I last tried. So, now I am waiting on several books. I’m hoping the quality has improved. I’m hoping that it wasn’t just a stroke of luck. Anyway, let’s get back to the reason of this blog.

Owen had just finished up Kindergarten. For his first class field trip, he was supposed to go to the Dallas Zoo. Due to the crazy and unpredictable weather of Texas, it didn’t happen. Rain, rain, and more rain. So, after the school year ended, they sent Owen home with a free pass for the zoo. The first day of summer vacation meant we need to go, yesterday. So, I enlisted the help of a friend and neighbor to some along with us. It was a hot and humid day but it was so worth it! Lunches packed, sunscreen applied, and a change of clothes later, we had a wonderful time!

Owen and Abby love watching the show “All Hail King Julien.” The show is about lemurs and is a spin off of the show “The Penguins of Madagascar.” Ever since then, the kids LOVE to talk about Lemurs. They were quite excited to see these little guys!

Owen has always loved penguins. Not sure why, but he was excited to see them!

Joy Comes in the Morning

“Experiencing this may cause Joy.”

This quote was pulled from my friend and photographer of Joy Neville Photography’s website. I have known this sweet momma for many years now. She was present at the birth of my 2nd and 3rd children, I was present for her 3rd and now 4th baby. I will never forget the day she texted me to tell me she was expecting. It was a complete surprise to be expecting a 4th baby into their family. With love and prayers, this momma learned to accept this growing beauty in her belly. One condition though, Joy stated. It better be a girl. LOL! We all waited patiently for the sonogram to find out the gender. Yes! It is! A little girl was on her way to this family. My family and I went over to their home one evening. I, with camera in hand, decided to gift this special family with some pictures of all members interacting with this little bundle. The setting was perfect. The sun was warm and inviting, the kids were bouncing on the trampoline and getting into the dirt. This is exactly what mom was wanting.

Joy 15

Cuddling with baby Everly on the hammock. Each and every one of these babies is beautiful!

Joy13

I love when kids check out their new sibling. They were also caught loving on Everly.

Joy 12

Getting mom and dad on the hammock was a little bit of a challenge. We made it though. A few laughs later. A family of six. How wonderful.

This is one proud mama right here. I love how she loves her babies so much.

One thing that Joy mentioned is that she feels bad not being able to enjoy her other children the way she has been soaking up the newness and sweetness of this new bundle of Joy. I think that she did enjoy her others, she just wasn’t as experienced as she now is. Enjoy sweet momma. She is just so perfect.

Joy, thank you so much for allowing me to spend some time with your family and to allow my kids to come over and play. Robert, the smoked ham was amazing! Thanks for having us over for dinner! Let’s do it again! Love you Joy!

Stone Creek Fun with the Pounds Family

Fun is Necessary…

A fun time was meant to be with this wonderful family! We met at Stone Creek Park in Flower Mound one cool spring evening. Their youngest is getting close to being one so the family decided to take pictures before his birthday! I know mom, Tamara, from work. We started working in Labor and Delivery around the same time. We are both experienced nurses from other areas trying to figure out the foreign language of caring for the laboring patient. Luckily by the grace of God, we still work there and haven’t completely gone mad. LOL! Tamara and her husband Jonathan started their family just a few short years ago. I photographed their maternity session and then newborn pictures of big brother. Little brother is coming up on a year old already. He was such a fun little guy to hand out with. His smiles were so big. Such a happy baby. I hope you enjoy these pictures. 🙂
